1. Treasurer's Report

Subs are the major concern. Only 36 received from 4 squads. Please pay up before next season. Any suggestions for getting money from reluctant payers are welcome. A discussion ensued ( see section 4). A list of debtors will be given by the treasurer to each Captain after the start of the season.  Also, concern expressed about the number of balls being lost each season which is wasting the club more money.

2. Captains' reports

1st XI   A good season. The team has come a long way and is well established in the league. Lots of young players have progressed well and we finished 3rd in the league, our target.

2nd XI   The team improved over the course of the season and finished well. Lots of young players have come on well.

3rd XI   The team is full of potential and some good young players such as Tom Thorogood. There has been a very good team spirit this year with players from 2nds or 4ths fitting in well.

4th XI   A remarkable season. Great team spirit and unlucky not to have won more matches. The only area of concern is that there is a considerble age gap between the older, experienced players and the younger ones. More players in the middle age range would be welcome.

U18s   A top quality team who have achieved amazing success against much bigger clubs. Well done! More publicity about their success would be good.

Secretary's Report : Nothing to report!

Umpire Development Officer's Report. The leagues are getting stricter about standards and qualifications of umpires. We have about 8/9 level 1 umpires but we need more to qualify. Sometimes it has been hard to find an umpire for a match.

3. Election of New Officers

Treasurer: Ian Christie decided to stand down and was thanked for his service. Tom Kirby volunteered to take over and was duly elected.

1st XI Captain: Stocky has stood down and was thanked for all his efforts. Nathan Thornton was duly elected Captain for next season

2nd XI Captain: Tony Potter agreed to remain in post

3rd XI Captain: Wellsy agreed to take over from Windy on condition that Windy helped him during the transition period

4th XI Captain: Richard Jones agreed to remain in post

Secretary : TP

Umpire Development Officer: Graeme Clelland

It was thought a good idea to appoint a fund-raising officer in the near future to organise events, find sponsors etc.

Jim King agreed to edit match reports for the D and S Times. So will match reporters send their reports to the webmaster and also to Jim King by Sunday night.

4. Fees:  After long and heated discussion it was agreed to raise the fees as set out below.

However, as an incentive to pay early, THE REDUCED FEE in brackets will apply until the end of November. After that date, the full fee will apply.

                              Adults                         £60 (£50)

                              Students/Juniors     £30 (£25)

Match Fees remain £5 (adult), £2.50 (stu/jun). Training £2

Meeting finished about 8.30 and the awards were presented ( see separate page)
